I have a question regarding engines for 300sd. Is the unit from a 1980 300sd exactly the same as one in an '82 and '85 apart from the trans mission linkage from the top of the cam cover which can be swapped. I have an engine in a wrecked '80 that is the smoothest running of this type that I have ever seen and the Alda seal is still intact indicating a minimum of tinkerting perhaps. I bought the wreck for the engine. TMA?

The oil pan, oil filter housing, mount arms, camshaft and power (15hp less) are different but easily swappable.
