Monster Diesel Additive
Can American Chopper lie? Just saw the show making the "Monster Diesel Bike". Has anyone tried this in their MB? Saw the molecular explanation, but I do not believe you can squeeze out more BTUs from the same drop of fuel.

Just watched the episode. Monster diesel is full of crap..
"One quart contains the energy equivalent of 25 gallons of diesel fuel"
Physics disagree on that. If that were the case then an engine that gets 25mpg on Diesel should be able to run 25 miles on a gallon of it. I'd bet it can't.
"Reduces diesel consumption by as much as 15%
Boosts diesel fuel’s energy by 10% for increased power and mileage per gallon"
Contradicting themselves.
"Reduces metal to metal engine wear and friction by as much as 40%, to reduce down time"
Impossible. Fuel does not come in contact with any engine parts. The only items it could potentially work on are the fuel pump and injectors, and they don't have any issues with straight ULSD.
"Winterizes diesel fuel to allow low temperature operation, preventing gelling and eliminating the need for expensive #1 diesel fuel"
What additive doesn't? If you buy winterized Diesel in the first place, adding anti-gel is completely unnecessary.
"Boosts the cetane number by 12.5%--twice the boost of premium gas over regular"
Only 5 points? Pretty much every additive claims that and there are cetane boosting specific ones that claim 8-10 points.
"Eliminates engine knock"
No such thing in a diesel engine in the first place!
"Provides corrosion control in the fuel system"
Water dispersant. Buying good fuel without water in the first place solves that.
"Supplements fuel to make up for the loss in lubricity that occurs when using ultra low sulfur diesel fuel"
Completely unnecessary.
"Changes black exhaust to white by establishing and maintaining the engine’s original fuel injection pattern to burn the fuel more completely"
White smoke is worse. Black is partially combusted fuel, white is non-combusted.
Its clear these guys are not diesel engineers or enthusiasts, just salesmen.

Want additives that actually work?
Look here at this recent test:
http://www.dieselpowermag.com/tech/f...est/index.html
I have used the listed additives in the test and can vouch for their effectiveness.
