C Class W 204 220CDI Temperature Guage
Today I pulled about a ton of gravel & sand in a trailer in hilly country with the ambient temperature at 36' C ( nearly 100' F).
I am amazed that the temp guage did not alter from the 92' C setpoint whether negotiating a hill or on the flat. This is my first MB & on all previous cars the temp guage varied depending on load , ambient temp, whether the A/C was operating, stopped in traffic ect.
All I can say is that the guage is fudged OR the fan & thermostat are very efficient in operation . The radiator must also have more spare capacity than other cars.
I welcome any comments.

On my E class the temp gauge has a designed dead spot between 95 and 105C. It will hold 95C until it reaches 105C and then jump and begin reporting the correct temp again. Is supposedly done to prevent unnecessary visits to the shop.
The CCU will digitally report the correct coolant temps if you want to view them next time. Press and hold Rest for 5 secs, use Auto buttons to scroll to screen 7(?).

They do move about a little bit on temperature, but they are more consistant than older generations as they have much more excess capacity from the cooling fan and radiator than previous models.
