2010 Blue Efficiency SPRINTER - tax credit ???
Not correct - Freightliner (owned by Mercedes) has several medium and heavy duty (straight trucks and tractors) that qualify and are listed in IRS publications as such.
There are many more commercial vehicles that burn diesel than private autos.
Is the government serious or is this just politics as usual?
Give my neighbor $1800 for buying one GL but nothing for me for buying 10 vehicles with the same engine!
Tax credits for green purchases (commercial) would do a lot more for the economy... Ie... 10 more trucks... 10 new driving jobs!
How about some answers from the MB executives!
Thanks
The only way a business can be "green" is to shut down completely.
Every new vehicle produced means more emissions produced as well. I'd rather see a company with a fleet of 1970's POSs than a fleet of spankin' new Freightliners. Its cleaner to keep a vehicle running for decades than it is to make a new replacement (even with materials recycling) every 5-10 years. Ever seen how much electricity is consumed to melt aluminum and iron at a foundry as well as the smoke produced from the vats?
