Question ? Bad CCV Valve ?

Hi All,

While working on the car this weekend (99E300TD) I noticed that the wells that my two rearmost injectors sit in were full of lube oil. Is this indicating that my ?CCV/PCV? valve has gone bad ( sorry, I'm not exactly sure what you call that little hockey puck screwed to the head cover above the ?#5? injector.
How often does this item need replacing ? The tubes going to/from it seem to be alright.

BTW: Just finished sucessfully extracting a snapped glow plug ! That sure wasn't fun, but thanks to all the excellent posters on this subject - you guys are awesome !

I'm gonna plug a guy in Wakefield, MA at Metric Screw + Tool, if that's OK. What a nice guy - he only sells metric hardware, and has all those oddball screws + stuff you can't ever seem to find. He hooked me up right.

There is no such thing as a CCV valve on diesels. Those pucks are oil separators and an o-ring or seal has failed.

Thanks for the schooling. I'll install another one asap and double check the hoses that connect up to it

Search for the part name/mumber here: http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb1.asp?TP=1&F=210025&VIN=

You might want to check that it isn't diesel leaking from a braided return line filling the inj well......

Hi,
Just got back online.
It's definitely not diesel - Dirty Mobil 1 for sure.
Thanks for the link
