300 TDT wagon

Does any know if the rear shock absorber for the 1984 300TD sedan (123 chassis) will fit in the rear of the 1984 300 turbo wagon (123 chassis). The thing is I want to replace the hydraulic suspension with a conventional system. Please let me know. Thanks

Nope. There is no non-hydraulic replacement.

yes it will fit but with very minor customization. I converted my rear suspension to non-hydraulic with propigskin's springs. My rear end was sagging down and THUMPED over any kind of bump so i scrapped my SLS system. I bought the new springs and sedan shocks and now it's good as new! The car sits perfectly and handles way better (obviously.) I'll post some before and after pics when i get a chance.

Until you put any kind of load into it.

Actually it's quite fine with some weight in it and I use the wagon to haul my tools around. Just the other day I had 4 people including myself, two tool boxes (~80lbs) and a full 15 gallon fuel cell in the trunk(~114.) Of course the sls system would be ideal, my car needed the entire system and I thought I would give the other set-up a shot. Overall, I'm very satisfied and since I did the work myself, it hardly cost me anything.

Mine too was replaced, although by the previous owner. I was very happy to find it that way after reading about all of the issues. The previous owner's Mercedes mechanic just used springs from an S class supposedly to support a bigger load. I think it handles nicely.
