OM642 Fuel filter - Inlet and outlet????

Hi Guys

I'm a noob on this forum, from South Africa.
I want to put a 2 micron fuel filter and water seperator inline on my Jeep with the 3.0 Merc engine. In Africa they don't know what clean fuel is...

On the OE fuel filter, which is the inlet, and which is the outlet?
On this photo, is the one with the plug on the right side the inlet???

Thanks

The capped line is the inlet. The transferable guts of your filter is a water separator. Its capacity is limited.

Thanks TMA

I suspected it, because of the cap, but just wanted to make sure.
