OM648 Glow plugs

Hey all I have a 2005 E320 CDI with a OM648.

I gave my dealer this part number for the glow plugs 001-159-51-01 and they told me it has been changed to 001-159-52-01 now when I look up this new part number on the Beru site it comes up as a different glow plug and the new part number is 3mm longer. Is this right??? I'm really skeptical about putting a longer glow plug in and then next thing you know the cylinder hits it.

I've done a lot of searching and found that for the North American CDI's we have to use the Beru glow plugs because the Bosch ones are for Europe and are the wrong voltage. But I haven't come across anything saying the part numbers were changed.

Which part is longer – one that is inside or the one outside engine head? RMEuropean has Beru in stock.

Alright I pulled out the ones that were in the motor and 2 of them were replaced with the new part number so I just changed them all anyways. I've had this car for 2 years so not entirely sure of all the maintenance it had before.

Cylinder 5 scared me though because it was hard to loosen off and come out and none of them even had anti seize on the threads. Good thing I soaked them with WD40 for like over a week.
