2010 ML Blutec, any issues to look out for? plus Tuning question...
Hi guys, I just picked up a CPO 2010 ML blutec, are there any issues that I should look out for? Whats the consensus on these vehicles in terms of reliability and economy?
Finally is there any CPU/chip tuning, that will up the power and not affect the economy? Seems like most turbo diesels have lots of power gains with a simple CPU tune... Any advice about doing this without affecting the warranty?
Thanks
Shalil

Seems like these are all questions you should have asked prior to picking up your vehicle. I have a 2011 E with Bluetec. It is a great engine. No complaints whatsoever.

Congratulations on your new ride. I've had my cpo '09 Blu for 5K miles. (Now has 60K) I love it after some initial problems requiring the replacement of the turbo and servo on MB's dime. Since the replacement I have plenty of power for towing and acceleration. My mileage on trips according to the computer hit 32mpg! Mileage over the 5,000K has been 24.8. Not bad.

Sure seems like that, but I have some friends with the same vehicle and know it's a solid vehicle, I wanted to know more in terms of TSB's or any little part's issues that may be more specific to the year and such... or that may need prophylactic treatment... Being a CPO vehicle I know it's going to be solid to begin with.
Any input on the ECU tune?
Thanks

All tuning VOIDS ALL repeat ALL MB warranty and forget about any goodwill stuff therefore choose wisely.
PS: The very first time anyone hooks up DAS Xentry diagnostic tool to your car, your tune will be noticed!! Other than that a great car and make sure you use the correct .51 engine oil specs.
Do not listen to the old salts when they say doesn't make a difference----they wont have to fork over 2700 bucks for a new DPF.Good Luck

Should be a good car. We have an '09 ML320 which was the first year (late 2008 production). Had some initial glitches with sensors in the AdBlue tank and also throttle body but been solid since then. Oh and one of the rear seat belts stopped retracting, replaced under warranty.
