REFILL 2012 ML350 BlueTEC with DEF
I have a new 2012 ML350 BlueTEC and at 13,873 mile the ADBlue message appeared. I drove straight to a TA and bought a 2.5gal of DEF and within 5 minutes poured it all in. Can someone please tell me how many gallons of AdBlue the tank will hold? Also how many miles will my 2.5 gal take me?
THANKS

If you have a mod 166--------27 liter capacity----if you have a 166.8 the capacity is 30.7 liters.
You know what you started with, you also know how many miles you drove before you added---if you own a MB you should now be able to do the math and determing how far you can go on 2.5 gal. At least I hope so!!

The entire tank should last between scheduled services when it will be topped up.
Urea goes sour with age. Do not top off the tank frequently, always go between services or until the warning appears then fill the tank completely.
Do not spill any on aluminum parts!

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but I had heard the opposite about topping up? My understanding was the urea doesn't go bad, it just becomes too diluted over time with condensation in the tank. So my understanding was topping up is preferable because you therefore have less air in the tank and less condensation to dilute the ratio of urea to water?

I fill mine myself right before the tune up at every 10,000 miles.
I believe the tank holds 7 gallons, but I've never gotten that much into it.
Please see my previous posts on this subject.
