E class 320CDI
Diesel particulate filter

How long does a diesel particulate filter last in our cars? Mine is a 320CDI. Do they give out like catalysts or do they keep on cooking? Anybody got a factory service manual - does the particulate filter need service?

If yours is a non OM642 diesel E-Class, it does not have a DPF. If it resides in the US, and is not a bluetec sedan, it does not have a DPF. If it's an SUV, some of them are labeled CDI's, but actually have the OM642 bluetec motor, but if yours is an e-class, you're fine. So basically, to sum up, if your car is an 05-06 E320, you have no DPF.
