Luxury and Economy
My wife and I just returned from a trip to Palm Springs. In addition to our normal luggage we were taking purchases to friends, so probably had 300 - 400 lbs of luggage. Our route down was on Hwy 99, then over to I 395 to I 10. Basically 70 - 75 MPH travel. Returning we caught I 10 over to
I 5 and spent 5 or 6 hours at 80 - 85 MPH (and I occasionally caught myself doing 90 +). Checking the dash reading when I got home showed 36.4 MPG for the trip.
While we were in Palm Springs we took a number of side trips with two different couples as passengers. Both sets of passengers commented on the looks, comfort and smooth ride of our car and marveled that it was a diesel. Actually they didn't know it was diesel until I told them.
I've followed some of the threads about the I-6 vs the V-6 on here, and while I can't comment on the I-6, I can truthfully say that this E350 Blutec is a great vehicle. It provides the economy that I wanted with good power, nice handling and great looks.
