put gas into CDI diesel by mistake!! HELP ME

my husband put 16 gallons of high test gas/ there were 6 gallons of diesel / he drove about 1.5 miles to gas station where they are draining the engine and blowing out the lines/ the engine did not seize or overheat but drove real rough/ this was not a MB dealership but seemed to know what to do/ we are waiting for the estimate/ please if anyone can advise us on what to expect and or what to be sure and do send me an email/ the car has 200,000 miles and was running well/ I 'preciate any advice real soon !! did we blow the engine??

Make sure they also drain/change all the engine oil and replace the filter.
Other than what you have advised they are doing, hopefully with only 1.5 miles there is no contamination in the injectors and or pump-----but very strange your comment---"drove real rough", if only 1.5 miles.

There is no reason to change the oil. All that is needed is to remove the gas and get the diesel fuel back into the fuel system. It sounds like your mechanic knows what is needed.

gas tank was drained and injectors cleaned/ oil change was done even if not needed/ car is running fine so far after 400 miles/ I want to thank those who responded to me for your advice/ I really appreciated your help at a time of great anxiety/ elizabeth

Changing the oil was a good idea. Running on a low cetane number fuel like gasoline will lead to really bad combustion which will likely cause some fuel dilution of the oil. It would be worse with diesel in a petrol vehicle.
