2014 GL350 Bluetec Oil cooler Leak
I don't post often but I'd figure I would share this info for those who give a crap. What i also find interesting is i own a 2008 sprinter with same 0m642 with 100k miles on the clock and it hasn't posed this failure yet as i expect it to.

sure with oil cooler access if you don't DIY the cost is big, but compare to oil cooler replacement on Ford 6l Powerstroke.
I own the truck 4 years with low miles and had to do the job twice already.
Is Sprinter having exact cooler?

I had exactly the same problem as you did on my 2012 E350 bluetec. Oil cooler seal leaked around 54000 miles. Had it fixed under warranty, but came out with a broken bolt on the exhaust manifold that had to be drilled and tapped. As a bonus, the technician failed to tighten bolts around the turbo, so I had an exhaust leak which lead to a melted wire harness. Been waiting a month now for the new engine harness to come in so they can replace it.
I'd probably assume it was the exhaust to turbo connection. I believe theses bolts are a copper bolt ,so I can understand why they break when removing the turbo.
On another note, the engine was filled with MB 5W-30 part# 001-989-37-01-usa9.

It doesn't leak oil, but clogs the passages, leading to too hot oil and potential coolant puke.
MB for decades had radiator-style oil coolers usually mounted on side of the main radiator.
Those work well even after 40 years in the service.
What made them making fluid-cooled coolers?
