Non start problem, please help!
Reposted from the petrol section!
Hi everyone.
This is a really confusing one (for me!) My w211 E280 cdi was running fine, then one morning, cranks, but not a hint of starting. So I plugged in my OBD II reader which gave a p0088 code "fuel rail pressure high". But, and the odd part I think, if I clear the code and remove one of the pipes from the fuel rail making no pressure, I get the high pressure warning back! I replaced the rail with the pressure sensor on, assuming that must be the fault, but that made no difference.
It's been suggested that it could be the pump on the other fuel rail, anyone else agree, or have a way of testing the theory??
Any help greatly appreciated.
