Wish there was an actual method to remove the whole DPF system in US-Spec OM642s. Mine is in a constant regen now that I only do short commutes and my MPG has dropped to below 20 per tank because of it...

You have been reading to much HS at Bens Wurld. You have many issues other than the DPF system. There is one spammer who believes taking fan blades off will help your issue. Wada guy!!

Get two (16oz) bottles of Diesel Deep Clean or AR6400-D and use them in back to back tanks, change the oil/fuel filter and then start using a multifunctional diesel fuel additive.

The problem is NOT the DPF system, but how the car is being driven. Try holding lower gears in the city (2-3) and take it on the highway once a week or so.
Get on it every chance you get (once warmed up). The engine/DPF needs airflow and heat to keep the carbon buildup down and work at maximum efficiency.
