Diesel car pricing

Did anybody noticed the values of older diesels going up lately?
I have search notifications from ebay from the time I was on the market and still keep it out of curiosity.
But years go I was buying/selling W210 diesels in $4000 range. Now I see them on ebay showing up for $8-9,000. They have lower mileage than the ones I had, but they did not get younger.
I bought 2008 320 Bluetec for less than 7 grands 2 years ago. Higher mileage, but pristine condition. Now those show for 15 grands. Again, they did not get younger in last 2 years.

Have not followed the used Diesel market lately but I was expecting something like this to happen year or two after the VW TDI fiasco news came!

You have good point, although I have never seen too many VW diesels in US and I used to drive them before switching the brand.
What I think might be backlash is that after VW case - MB halt diesels deliveries to US, so not too many of those on the market. Last spring I was seeking white MB diesel and after a month of searching I bought black one 2000 miles away.
On other hand diesel fuel pricing last spring was the lowest in last decade (I filled up for $1.99 in July), but after couple of hurricanes the prices went up again. But perception of cheap diesel from begging of summer will last for some time.

As I recall there were close to 500,000 affected TDI's registered in the US at the time and I had one of them!

Mine was 2010 Jetta Wagon mith 6 sp manual, and I replaced it with 2008 E320 Bluetec. The only downside has been about 40% more fuel usage, but hey it's twice the car!

The VW buyback was well organized and worked out to be a good deal for me.

Funny few years ago I replaced 2003 VW Jetta diesel wagon with 2005 E320 cdi and was getting exactly the same 32 mpg. At the time I was driving every couple of months 600 miles from San Francisco to San Diego and the route and speed was the same.
Actually MB with the same mpg was making the trip about 20 minutes faster due better acceleration.
