Expert opinion sought on repair to bluetec hose
I recently found that the bluetec hose on a GLK 250 (2015) broke away at the point where it connects with the catalytic converter. All the bluetec flowed out and I took it to the MB dealer for repair. (I normally use a independent MB/Audi mechanic near my home, but this time had to go to dealer. After 8 hours the dealer called to say that valve/sensor (not sure about part name) would take 2 days to arrive and cost $600 and labor would be $380. I would like someone's opinion if this seems right. The part price seems very high but I know these MB parts can be dear. If anyone knows what this repair should cost, I would be grateful to hear your opinion. Many thanks.

Once you take the car to stealer, your are at their mercy.
$600 for sensor on newer car is about standard. I had to replace Ox and MAF sensors and both were in this range if not higher.
But DIY I bought them from internet dealer (Husker) for $350.
If you are in good relation with SA he will let you buy sensor on the net and bring it to them.
