Weird accelerator pedal development

I decided to keep my 08 E320 BlueTEC for at least a while after massive repairs. A new development with the accelerator pedal has me and my mechanic puzzled. Driving around town everything’s fine but it I get on the highway and drive 70-80 miles when I come off the interstate the accelerator pedal feels stiff and takes more pressure to push down. It’s not limp home mode and the intake manifolds were replaced in July. It’s not a big deal but just wondering if anyone else has noticed this.

Thanks!

Speaking for my '05, and I doubt yours is very much different, the accelerator pedal is just a spring loaded lever with position sensors built in. There's really nothing to go wrong in there. Are you sure something isn't getting wedged into the hinged area at the bottom of the pedal? It's pretty easy to take it out and clean it up. There's zero connection (other than electric wires) from the plug at the top of the pedal to the rest of the car.

A decent reader with graphing ability can tell you if your sensors are getting jjitteryyy but my money is on crud building up on the pedal's pivot point.

no there’s plenty of power it’s just that the pedal feels like it has more resistance

Has to be related to temperature of linkage in pedal on demand sensor from engine heat soaking back into cabin. My W211 does nothing like this?
