Vito 115 CDI 2005
Vito not starting
I have Mercedes Benz Vito 115 CDI 2005 model. I had a problem where the Van struggled to start and I was told it's the glow plugs, changed the glow plugs still the same problem. Then I was told it could be the rail fuel pressure valve changed it and still didn't want to start. Then I took off the inline to fuel filter and the diesel comes out strong when putting on the ignition and it's also strong going to the diesel pump, but when i loosen the metal pipe on the diesel pump that goes to the injector rail, and crank the engine the fuel just drips out.

That is what it takes to atomize fuel. Higher pressure = better atomization.
cdi diesels idle with 300 bars =4500 psi in the rail.
We don't have many European members here, so Vito is pretty unknown on this forum. but still all diesels run on the same principles.
For this trouble I recall Autel scanner having good program.
You push "engine doesn't start" option and it shows all vital data so you can do the troubleshooting keeping your fingers clean.

How am I going to feed it from a can ? According to the workshop that fixed the hp pump the lp pump pushes a valve open in hp pump at 3-5bar So if I use a can How am I going to get so much pressure to feed the hp pump?
