Injectors cooding?

Hello fellow diesel drivers. I drive a W203 with an OM 612.990 Diesel engine (diesel AMG)

Some time ago i took my injectors for cleaning. After the mechanic got them he did not put them in the same holes they came out off. I hade them labeled and all but he decided to rip of the labels and not pay any attention to this detail he deemed unimportant.

Now reading on different forums I have seen that some people say this injectors need cooding into the ECU and honestly i have experienced a lack of power ever since this happen.

Is this correct do they need coding and if so what tool can be used to fix this?

Thanks

I'm wondering what engine issues you are having that caused your injectors to need cleaning. 150K miles on my car and I've not considered pulling the sprays for any reason. Short of sending the injectors to Bosch for reman, I don't think anything a mechanic can do will be of any benefit to the spray tips. Without the proper equipment it would be easy to mess up the spray pattern and turn it into drops instead of mist. That'd cause a power loss.
Keep us updated!

The reason i sent the injectors for cleaning was that u was getting a lot of return fuel from the and i did send them to a specialist to be cleaned properly the mechanic did only took them out and put them back in.

The specialis how did the cleaning said that they look good and are within parameters.

So if that is the case the only thing now is to check if coding is requiered or not since i know for sure they were not put in their original places

Ok so on the update I contacted Deplore and he said that there might be a chance for my injectors reuqiering coding. So i used the DAS program that i borrowed from a friend to check and there was no option there for coding injectors. I checked all the sub menues under CDI2.

Now im wondering if there is some kind of tunning or an other way to tell the original placement of the injectors. Since everyone advises to put then back to their original places there muat be somtheing to it...

Deplore did scan my 2008 OM 642 engine some time ago and at 160k miles each injector was having quite different number.
His conclusion was that the injectors have been replaced as factory would use injectors with consequent numbers.
But that is evidence that they do get coding into the car. Is it really necessary? Who knows. The car also suppose to have new air filters coded, when I replaced them without coding and sky did not fail.
I don't think you have other choice than try, but now you can buy $150 scanners who should do the job on older cars (I don't see MY of car in question here?).
It would be much more difficult on newer cars, who require SCN coding.

I see well your OM 648 is quiet different from my 612. I think you have piezo injectors and mine are simple solenoid injectors.

Not sure what the way forward is from here however ill keep looking for a solution if none found ill start saving for new ones
