Oil low on diesel
My Ml350 low oil life came on 2200 miles after getting an oil change ....added a quart. 120,000 miles and never had any oil issues other than replaced oil filter housing at prior oil change...anyone?

Expanding on what Plutoe said: If an oil change place only fills the crankcase to the absolute minimum needed to turn off the warning lights, they'll save a lot of oil and make their bottom line quite a bit sweeter over the course of a year.
Change your own oil and KNOW it is done right.

My question “low oil life” or “low oil light”. Either way for gods sake check your oil. Low LIFE means you drive lots of short trips and oil seldom gets to self cleaning temp where it cracks or “boils” out combustion and condensation products, my car goes 37-52 miles every start so my oil LIFE is extraordinarily long though I replace filters at about 5k intervals. Check oil filter cover seating area for signs of oil, if any is visible then get a new o-ring with your filter kit, it wasn’t installed correctly.
