What's your definition of "reliable" ?
When OM642 engine block is basically bulletproof, with the years they do have some high-priced maintenance items.
Like oil cooler seals. (suck that $10 parts take $2000 labor), than intake flaps, than egr, than later models have DEF, where tank heater and floater don't last.
At least DPF system got some support in last years and owners have ways to deal with it without leaving +- $4000 at stealer.
