1976 300D OM617 blow head gasket??? HELP!
Hey guys need some help diagnosing this issue. There is some creamy “milk” in the radiator and it’s pretty low on coolant. However the car doesn’t overheat or blow any smoke out of the tail pipe or have coolant in the motor. I’m pretty new to diesels any advice? If it’s the head gasket how hard is it to replace? Thanks in advance!

Blown head-gasket would create gargling at coolant cap, so check if you can observe it?
You have pretty old engine, so not too many people might remember it. I did own 1985 model, but don't know if this is the same block. Some pictures would help?
So if your car has ATF cooler build into radiator, that is what I would check next.
Pull transmission dipstick and drop the fluid on white paper tower to observe contamination.
Those engines are very easy to work on. Still remember long time ago, HG on VW engine was 2.5 hr job with hand tools only.
Modern V engines take 20 hr just to get there.

Sounds like a head gasket issue.
Are you saying there is no sign of contamination in engine oil....no frothy substance around filler cap?
No increase in level on dip stick?
As stated above replacing the gasket is a relatively straightforward job so long as the head is not cracked/warped!
