Hello everyone! Hoping someone can shed some light on an issue I have...


Its a 2009 GL320 bluetec. Recently tackled the oold cooler seals and replaced the old orange seals. Have just under 100k miles. After putting it together, car started and runs, drives fine. However, two issues I am concerned about:


1 - the mpg is very low, like 14 on the highway (usually got up to 28)


2 - an acidic/acetone like smell from the exhaust.. will burn your nostrils if you try to get a closer whiff of it...


Any ideas?

re fuel=do a leak oil test
re smell=take the car out for 100 miles at sustained plus 75

I was figuring the smell may be just from burning off the chemicals and sludge from cleaning out the manifolds... hopefully the fuel economy will improve as well. There doesn't look or smell like a leak at least
