just bought a V class and need to fill up with adblue. Dealer told me, I need to come back to use adblue from Mercedes. and need to replace a filter every tank of adblue.
I just knew that I can buy adblue from service station and is a lot cheaper...
can I use adblue anywhere? are they the same?
where is the filer? d I need to replace the filter every tank?

Truck stops pump DEF in the range of $2.50/gallon and it is fresher than the stuff you can buy from the shelf.
DEF in hot temperatures has 6 months of shelf life.
My truck has DEF fill next to diesel fill, so it is easy to use. For MB, I saved cans from DEF I bought in the past and refill at truck stop.
The issue with MB is that fill is inside the trunk and any spill from the pump can make quite a mess, that is why small bottles are recommended.
It is messy job anyway.
I rather leave the tank 80% full, than risk topping it off and spill.

Any spills from over fills end up on top of the tank. Which isnt inside the vehicle, just an fyi. .
