'84 190d, '12 VW tiguan
190d transmission
Hey all I have an '84 190d that im going to be selling some parts off soon or rebuilding from the ground up, anyways it has a 5 speed manual in it and i cant find any info on the tranny anywhere. I believe its a 717.4xx but I'm not that familiar with the Mercedes manual trannys or the cost to rebuild/replace. any help with info would be appreciated thanks in advance.

Don't think you will find US mechanic ready to work on it for given quote. I had manual on 1999 Ford truck and even for that - finding a mechanic was very difficult. I had gear holder popping out and and the only option I could find was getting "rebuild" transmission, what usually is 1 pulled from wrecked car and washed.
What's wrong with yours? If it is not leaking, I would change oil and call it a day.
