OM642 How to set timing?

In the middle of replacing timing chain the timing has got off to the point im needing to know exactly where timing needs to be on the harmonic balancer along with both cams on passenger side.

Internet forums are famous for getting lot of opinions on the subjects and when that can be fun when sitting at computer, I would not use the opinions for setting timing chain.
Get subscription to EPC, or AllData and pull official documents.
You might find copies on the net for no fee, but you will never know if they are recent.

If your timing is off, then you need to pull the valve cover on the driver's side too. Which is a bummer because you now need to remove the EGR valve which can be very tempermental. Once you have that valve cover off you can align the marks for all four cams and the crankshaft. They are all easily visible marks.
