Ok. Its been over a month and I wanted to uodate on the om642 oil usage issue on my 2011 GL350. After full tune , exhaust , dpf delete , I disconnected the pcv hose amd routed it thru a catch can to see if the can would catch a bunch of oil. So far after about 600 miles , the catch can has only collected a few ounces of oil. Mind you the car has gone thru 6 quarts of oil in 600 miles all the while running flawlessly. Getting closer to rebuilding the turbo possibly or thinking it may have a leak that only leaks while the vehicle is moving. It only seemed to have a normal bit of leaking wetness
showing under the car.
I had same catch can and I can tell you this catch can sucks until I modified it.
I have to add additional canister because catch can was too small and was full very fast after modification.
I used cooper tube where I make holes and added copper pot scrubber inside.
Oh boy, I can tell you this work like a charm now.
One more thing:
I have the catch can next to fan in front of the engine. Try to have the catch can installed where the temperature can be possibly lowest.
