hey everyone I live in California I have a 2012 e350 bluetec with 106k miles anyhow recently I was driving on the highway and my engine stalled on me didn't want to start again towed it back to my place it sounded like the battery didnt have enough crank power I checked that it was a good battery I took the starter off the car tested the starter it worked at one point before doing all this things I used another vehicle to jump start the car i tried it it sound like it wanted to start so I kept going until I got it to start bit it was not the same engine sound it sounded different this time engine turned on for about 20 seconds if that and shut off after this I tried it again and now it would not even crank it would just click and that's that so any how I tried all of the above mentioned stuff nothing I did some digging around I came up with maybe a timing chain problem so I grabbed me a breaker bar with the right size socket and started to spin engine manually the engine does a full turn I believe or a little less then the full turn and after that it won't turn anymore I go backwards and the same my believe is that the engine is seized maybe when I forced it to turn on I probably made the piston and valve crash against each other or something i dont know so I will soon find out to what extent did I damage my engine..!! the only question I have for anyone that has had experience with rebuilding a 2012 e350 bluetec engine or anyone that has purchased a 2012 e350 bluetec engine what would be my best option or the best route I can take I've looked at used 2012 e350 bluetec w212 engines and they are still up there in price I think the cheapest I've seen it for is like $4.5k but it was for a 2011 I believe everything else is 6k ,7k and let's not talk about new! But what would be the total cost labor and parts if I went with rebuilding..! by the way I'm still paying this car off so any suggestions?
