DEF (SCR) DELETE

spent $3000 cnd on the emissions Jan and Feb 2021....
Have E350 and S350.....both 2012

Sent out both DPF for cleaning....swirl motors.....P20E8 code on the S350.
can't pull the code on the E350.

Now ADBLUE comes on both cars but no count down....

I was told I should do a DEF Delete only.....and the cars will still regen.

Is it fact...can i only do the DEF SCR delete ?
Will t still regen?
Long distance driving 90 % highway.

any input is much appreciated......

Before you decide to go for delete, read about AEM settlement in USA, who gives huge benefits to Bluetec owners.
No guarantee Canada (?) will follow, but something to consider.
Other thing is do you do system monitoring. DPF , even it might be consider wearable can last 200,000 miles when owners monitors regenerations and don't abort them too often.
DEF system on sedans do have relatively cheap parts, so it not suppose to cost very much.
Lastly, even per my experience, when MB diesels don't emit much particulates, so DPF is not doing much, the SCR system cuts the poisonous gases a lot and this is something you breathe.
I have DPF delete in 1 of my sedans, where SCR still works. Car passes NV smog test with 0 particulate reading.
Now I am working on restoring the sedan to original specifications.
My understanding is that DPF and SCR are independent systems doing different jobs, so fully separable.

Thank you for being the voice of reason....I was leaning to repair it properly, since I have replaced most of the big ticket items...
