Problems/Issues after Emissions Recall Performed?

2014 GL350
My 14 350 GL350 has been a remarkable vehicle . At 102,000 mi, had AEM over 3 years ago with zero problems.i must be one of the lucky ones. All warm weather driving .
I’ll be exchanging it for an EV SUV, either a Volvo EX 90, or the Lucid Gravity, later this year.
It’s been interesting to follow the diesel forum…

Twins at birth. My airbags went at ~ 90,000 miles. I hope the resale/trade-in value is reasonable later this year.
Has the body held up well to cold winters and salty roads ?
When I lived in Vermont, the cars were damaged significantly.

Got the AEM done on my E350 in December , it took like a month, drove the car about 500 miles and the check engine was on.
Took the car to AutoZone to have it scanned but there were no codes showing.(that was weird )
Drove it to the dealer turned out to be a DEF heather ( the DEF level was not low). The dealer changed the heating element free of charge.
One thing I noticed after the AEM , there is a very strong smell from the exhaust. It was not anything like that before, its so bad I though that there was a exhaust leak some were, but was assured there was no leaks.
Have someone else noticed bad exhaust smell after the AEM??
