2006 E320 Malone or RaceChip Tune?
I told myself I wasn't going to do this but I keep finding myself researching different Tuning applications for my CDI. I'm not interested in a bigger turbo, injectors, intercooler, exhaust, etc. All I'm looking for is a simple way to free up some HP, Torque, and maybe some MPG's. Right now I'm looking at a ECU tune with Malone Tuning using the flashzilla. 236hp, 444ft/lbs for about $700. Includes deleted EGR and Intake swirl flaps. That's a increase of 35 HP and 75ft/lbs. I can't find many reviews with Malone Tuning for CDI's, only TDI's. If you have a tune with Malone for your CDI please share. I know racechip makes another module but I'm not sure if I like idea of the chip being placed in the wiring loom and left there. Maybe it's not a big deal? Cost is about $400 for 29 HP and 61 ft/lbs. They also offer a tune one step up from that using their "GTS" chip resulting in 35 HP and 74 ft/lbs. The GTS chip is about $500 plus shipping and handling. So, out of these two which one do I go with and why? Or, should I look into another company or completely disregard tuning the CDI and enjoy it as is? Again, I'm looking for the most reliable tune from a reputable company. An increase in mpg would be nice but something that is safe that won't destroy my car is a must. Thanks!

I think if you look across the CDI community, you’ll find Marcin Hoski to be the best tuner out there by a good margin. He’s also quite a bit cheaper than any of the other tuners. I used him and I can’t recommend him enough.
