Aluminum flakes in oil filter to some degree are normal.
Did you send the oil to lab for testing?

If you mean that you're looking for a way to do rod and/or main bearings in situ through the oil pan, I don't think that's feasible. You could get the lower pan off with the engine in the truck but lifted up a bit off its mounts, however, there's no way that I could see to pull the upper pan. That upper pan covers most of the crank as well as the baffle that covers all of the crank. By the time you were taking apart the subframe and front axle, you're going to spend less time taking the whole lump out the top. Additionally, if the crank has been worn down or a rod end has gotten a bit ovoid, you're not going to be able to tell and you certainly won't be able to fix it. That's not to say I haven't done that before - in one of those cases I snuck new bearings in to the bottom end of an EDZ in a friend's PT Cruiser and she got another 30-40k miles out of it at least before she traded it in. Still knocked a bit, but I watched the oil like a hawk and never got any more glitter in the oil, so we counted it as a win. But that's usually going to be a temporary band-aid.

When you say aluminum flakes, though, how big and how many? A couple little bits wouldn't worry me too terribly much, but if you've got larger bits and/or a lot of debris in there, I'd start making some plans. When you drain the oil and put it in a wide pan in the sun, do you get any metallic sheen in the oil? Good idea to send the oil out to be analyzed. You won't have a baseline to compare against, but if they see a lot of aluminum, copper, tin, silver, and other metals, you'll have your answer.
