remote Diesel water seperator / filter install
I recently ran into problems with water in my diesel. had to tear apart the injectors... Real pain. The little OEM filter is so small and so hard to check and get to. I want to remote-mount a diesel filter/water bowl so I can keep an eye on things. I don't drive this car much and I guess the seal on the tank cap was bad or something. I ended up with water in the tank.
This car is a 2007 Bluetec diesel and there is absolutely no place I can put this. If you have looked under the hood you know what I am talking about. The 642 literally takes every square inch of that engine compartment. I was thinking in the trunk.
Ideas anyone?

OM642 is not easy to work on for sure, but getting access to fuel filter takes only few minutes, so I would not try to change and complicate the design.
I had water separators with glass bowl on several diesels in the past, but when I never collected drop of water, the additional connectors and orings gave me more headaches.
I actually removed the separator from my old VW and lived happy after.
