OM642 oil in turbo 99% gone

OM642 oil in turbo 99% gone

Just pulled off the MAF "bat wing' and was pleasantly surprised with the lack of oil in the turbo and MAF unit. I have been super happy with this addition , over 100K miles now. If oil isn't going through the intake and getting burned the DPF has to have much less work to do, just makes sense to me.

Yeah so you added a catch can and now there is little oil in tube, would you have any before pics by chance would be nice to see.

If you know much about the OM642 engines you know what they normally look like when take off the MAF. There have been many threads talking about the excessive oil passing and the problems it causes with caked up intakes (oil + soot from ERG) to even slobbering down on the swirl flap motor and taking it out; mine was no different than all of the others. If you are familiar with the problem and are interested in a solution, here is a fix for it. If you don’t care or it doesn’t pertain to you, move along.

My goal is to help where I can and pass along helpful information. Nothing more, nothing less.

If you know the engine you know the weaknesses. If the weaknesses are improved the car lasts longer.

Well I dont have a om642 and I was simply curious of how bad it was before you did you mod. That is all.
