E350 Coupe Panarama Sunroof problem

E550 Coupe
My sunroof is fixed! I had my appointment on Thursday morning. They diagnosed the problem, ordered new fabric as mine was shreded (which arrived overnight) and reassembled my car for delivery this morning. It is now more quiet in operation than it ever was before the repair. Maybe it's a new series of parts? My dealership experience was great.

Well.............my C 350 coupe was purchased in Oct 09. I have opened the sunscreen perhaps 5 times: always nervous after reading thi ssite. Now, at 4500 miles the screen is shredded and looks like a car from the Beverly Hillbillies. It goes to the dealer tomorrow and I am afraid I will be forver nervous when opening the screen and roof. NOT AT ALL WHAT I EXPECTED after "upgrading" from my wonderful C 350 08. Otherwise I love this car. However, my original appt was for the fact that I get no audio since last week. Apparently a "module" has to be replaced. Never had thses kind of problems in any other brand. Am I doomed to become a regular at the Service Counter?

2010 E-350
sunroof problems again!!!
My sunroof liner is starting to go defective again.. I try to close it yesterday and it moved for about three seconds and went back to the open position. Its starting to make a loud scratchy sound through out the whole travel from open to close. It took 4 atempts to close the liner. I will leave it closed untill I take it to caliber motors in anahiem,ca for my first service. I have about 9900 miles on it. If you read my last post on this issue i had about 4500 miles on the car when the sunroof broke on me. I took it to caliber and they fixed it, so I thought. Maybe its a problem that happens every 5000 miles or every 3 months, at least in my case.I'll keep you guys posted on the issue after the repairs.

Sunroof issues
Jimmycrackcorn: when you take your car in, will you please ask the dealer what the procedure is for MB to consider a recall. Obviously, this appears to be a design failure and they need to figure it out. I refuse to purchase an extended warranty policy just to cover the possibility that this will be a continuing issue of something that is a design defect.

10' e350 Coupe
Just started shopping in Sac for the e350 coupe. Dealer in El Dorado Hills kinked the roof screen when demonstrating the car. Not one on the lot under $61g and it looked like a Kia when that cheap screen wouldn't let me air out on the test drive!

For whatever reason, my wife and I each own 2010 MB models. Hers is an E550 and mine is the E350c. Her car has 8200+ miles and mine 4400+ miles. We have had zero issues the cars. I believe post 2007, MB is back to where they belong. These cars represent our second and third MB's. The first was in 1997.
We have driven three Lexus vehicles before the current vehicles. They were were excellent cars but Lexus today just seems to have boring, but well made cars.
JasB, any car you buy will have issues over time. It's man-made. If you like the E350C overall - get one and enjoy it. It will not be perfect but, it sure beats the KIA you referred to.

I was told by the dealr in Wilmington, DE that recalls are done only for safety issues. Well, this on-going headliner problem must be costing MB dearly. I also love my car, but this situation is RIDICULOUS indeed!

Just had similar problem on e350c 4800 miles was demo shade to family and liner bunched up on driver side. Took to dealer had to order new shade car fixed one day later. Asked service rep if was common problem said no. To be continued......

i have sunroof problem too,when i drive the car on short distances a lot of noisy sound come from sunroof(clinkings) i went 3rd times to dealer first they grased,second they removed whole parts of sunroof and assemble again. now, i think the name of part curtain or screen will change its coming from Germany.

I just had mine replaced as well. I took it in originally because the NAV system was off, and turns out I had a defective GPS antenna.
Dealer replaced the antenna, and also noticed the sunroof issue (I hadn't noticed it before I took it in.
