Problem with homelink!!
Your opener might have rolling codes, did you try hitting the learn option on the motor? I had to do that for mine
2) If you don't have them go to Genie and download.
3) Your wife will get you if you spend more time on here asking for instruction help when its available in the opener and car owner's manuals.
I went through the process several months ago myself and found it could be tricky due to different conditions and environment. For example, I was able to make our E350 Coupe to open the garage door right at the first attempt. But it took me like 5 attempts before I got wife's GL350 to work. And even after they are all working now, I find I have to get GL350 very close to the garage door, and at a specific angle, to open the door. While the E350 Coupe works perfectly that I can open the door from almost 100 feet away. I have Genie with rolling code as well.
Not knowing where you problem is, the concept is:
1. Get the handheld remote control (Genie) to work first.
2. Train the car (integrated Remote Control) with the handheld remote control.
3. Pair (sync) the car to the garage door opener motor head (I had to push and hold the button in the car 3 to 4 times for rolling code sync).
If you still have problem, call MBUSA Services from the car for step by step instructions. Althgouh I didn't use their services, the dealer told me they are very experienced with this because so many people have issues with it.
Hope this helps and good luck!
On mine it's on the garage door opener itself , under the light lid cover there is a black button that says "learn" next to it. Press that once and you have I think 30 or 60 seconds to get to the remote and press it. I had to press the remote a few times until it took, the door will close then your good!
