Difference between 2010 vs 2011

I am just wondering is there a difference between the 2010 E350 Coupe vs 2011?

350CDI will be updated to the new engine OM624LS (rumoured) 2011 march. Petrol will stay how it's now. There is always little "tweaks" when the first model year gathers experiences and small flaws.

Going mainly from the Owner's Manual

The ESP Off switch has been removed and the function relegated to the Menus. In its place below the Hazard Warning switch is the Seat Belt Presenter switch, which is relocated from the centre console.

The fog light has been a separate push switch since mid-2010 rather than part of the main light switch (pull for fogs).

Vehicles with back-up camera now have guide lines in the display.

Possibility of the option of a stitched upper dash (probably in MB Tex/Artico). This came up briefly unpriced in the configurator then disappeared.

Updates to Media Interface (Bluetooth streaming/iPod Video/Speech to Text/Text to Speech) with accessory.

i have to take my car in for it's second service sometime in december. I wonder if things like the bluetooth changes and guidelines in the review camera are software updates that can be added to 2010 cars.

The media interface should be part of any update to COMAND that you have done. You will still need the Media Interface Plus accessory ($250-300) for the full functionality so far (Bluetooth streaming/iPod Video). The text to speech/speech to text (for SMS and email) will not come on stream until Q1 or Q2 2011 (ie another software update).

I am in the UK so I can't speak with any authority on other markets. I don't know for sure where you are located but many US users do already have this and have for some weeks, so it would depend on your dealership. Media Interface Plus can only be appended to cars already fitted with option code 518 Media Interface according to the information released on MBUSA. Book your car in for the COMAND update but be specific as to what specifically you are expecting. I don't know whether software updates are free elsewhere but, as I've said, for the full functionality thus far (remembering there is more to come) the interface box is required, which won't be free.

In my case, usually when I am looking for answers to something entirely different!

hi mate im in london myself. do you know if the reversing guidelines added to the backup camera functionality would require the interface box or simply be just a sw update?

Yaay, a fellow Londoner! I wonder if the Americans on here read our posts in a Dick Van Dyke accent (probably lost on you if you're under 50). The guidelines are certainly not reliant on the MIP interface box, I don't actually know if merely getting COMAND updated adds them either, or if there is something 2011s have that 2009-10s don't or can't. The lines were just something I picked up from looking at the 2011 Owners Handbook.

I haven't had much opportunity to call recently but my dealership (MB Croydon) claimed to know nothing about this stuff about 6 weeks ago. Since then I have seen some of the changes on UK cars.

Post if you find anything out before I do. Cheers.

In the US, I think the 'Appearance Package' gives 5-spoke AMG wheels instead of the 6-spoke ones. Looks much better IMHO.
