2014 E550 4Matic with P1/LED/Pano
why run only 235/265's?? not worth the effort. I've got 245/275's on 8"/9" C63 wheels and they fit flawlessly and change the character of the car. I even got a set of C63 stock 18's for winter so I could run 275's out back as well.

The reason why I recommended 235 fronts and 265 rears is because he has a E350 cab. To run 275 in the rears is definitely overkill. I had 255 in my C350 and I can't even get the tires to chirp. No need to go so wide that he has to deal with tramlining and decrease fuel economy. The old adage is wider is better is only applicable as long as the car can break traction with the power it has. In his case, he's reached the point of diminishing return.
I have 19" HRE 590r's 8.5 fronts and 9.5 rears.

I'm in the same shoes as Mikey. I'm not looking to lower my car either but I'm looking to change the character and look of the car. Wanted to go with a 20" but have been told it wouldn't look right unless I lowered it then. Can you go with a 19" and still see a significant difference in appearance over the factory 18" wheel? Does that 1" really make a big difference visually?

Since, the E350 coupes share the same chasis with the W204's. Maybe this will help. This is my C63 with 3 piece HRE's on 19"s. My car is not lowered.

Really nice look. Exactly what I am looking at for my ecab. Looked at several HRE's. What finish do you have there on your car?

Here you are:

Its a 19" very good replica of very expensive 19" 2-pc AMG wheels - it has rivets (fake) but no lip. So wheels look 19" as they are. Same wheels with lips would look like 18". Just look at picture of C63 above.

You're confused in thinking that your replicas don't have lips. What you're referring to are "Step Lips", which I do not have. Step lips use smaller centers, yet allow for larger diameter rims to be used. That is what you're referring about the illusion of smaller wheels. The HRE's shown above are normal 3 piece rims.

And by the way, E350 (no AMG body work in US anyway) will never look better than E550 (AMG body is standard) regardless of what wheels are on. Just my opinion.
This link if for exellent pictures of these 19" (original AMGs) on a W212 silver sedan. They do transform W212 (and W207 even more so):

"Stepped" lips are a lip within a lip and it (the center of it that is) looks 1.5"-2" smaller that it realy is. Many 20" stepped lip wheels do not appear any bigger than 18s. That is my opinion of course which I do not impose on anyone.

2. Not C63, but 207's oem E550 wheels, but yes I swapped oem pos for chinese pos (both are pos so no harm done and 19s look great). Look at W212 sedan's pictures with original AMGs on it (I provided a link above). These wheels look IDENTICAL to AMGs just without "AMG" stemped on them. FYI, my MB dealer's sales and service staff had their jaws dropped when they saw these wheels on - they did not even notice those are replicas.

The purpose of the link was not to advertise those wheels (I'm NOT associated with eurowheelsusa in any way), but to show them (staggered) on a coupe - that was the original request from someone. I bought those wheels (staggered) from them over a year ago, they must have sold out all staggered sets by now. However, the car in his listings is my E550 coupe with staggered wheels/tires - I gave him pictures after installing them as a thank you. I also have same staggered wheels (btw they except oem TPMS sensors) on my W212 as well. So have them on both cars and very happy. IMHO, the quality of the wheels is exceptional, considering price of admission, and they look stunning.
As a side note, most of the wheels carried by the TireRack these days are made in China. "Made in China" now carries much more quality with it than 10 or even 5 years ago. I have no problem buying a product made in China these days. Warren Buffet had huge investments in PTR a few years back and in BYD much more recently.
