I'm picking up my E550 Coupe tomorrow! Pumped!

I ordered my E550 Coupe back in end of March and it just landed on US shore this past week. This baby is loaded with all options:
Premium package 1 and 2
Premium Leather Upgrade (special order - two-tone seats - almond/black)
Appearance package
Distronic package
Illuminated door sills
Rear side airbags
Rear deck spoiler
Wood Trim package (special order - black ash)
Chrome door handle inserts

For those of you E550 Coupe owners, what can I expect? It's my first Mercedes! What are your Pluses and Minuses on this ride?

Mate there are no minuses it's a Mercedes, yours is nicely specced you'll love it. Did you thing about the AMG pack at all, the seats, wheel and suspension all add to something quite special. It's by far the best Mercedes we've ever owned. got ours 3 weeks ago and loving it>

Yes, the AMG wheels and AMG steering wheel are both in the Appearance Package.

I got mine in Capri Blue (dark blue)

BTW, did any of you in the US did the Teflon coating (5 year warranty) factory painted clear coat. No wax ever? My dealer recommended this and being in East Coast, I thought it's a great idea.

Congratulations after your long wait! Please post pictures. Haven't seen any in Capri Blue. Should be a nice combination with that interior.

Question: Did the black ash interior wood trim cost more? If so, how much? I just ordered that for my 2012 E350 Coupe. No pricing available at the time I placed the order. Just curious. I thought the black ash trim would look better with the new (new in the U.S.) red/black leather interior I ordered.

You are so right! I toyed with the idea of getting white for months, primarily because I thought it made the lines of the car stand out better and contrasted the black pano roof nicely.

But, I settled on black because the car just looks so baaaaaaaaaad in black. Plus, the new red/black leather option for the U.S. should look great with the black exterior.

Just got it, WOW, what a pick up it has!

One thing we found out today is that I also have the BLUETOOTH AUDIO. Supposely, that option of the firmware is not available for 2011 cars, only starting 2012. Any one of you have that on your coupe?

This is to allow you to listen to your music off your phone (for example) via Bluetooth without acutally connecting the phone to the media cable in the glove box. This was a bonus find by the dealer and myself.

The black ash wood trim is actually NO CHARGE, but you had to get the Wood Trim Package. Did you get the wood trim package on your 350C? Since it's a special order, you simply had to request it with your sales person. The black ash wood trim was an automatic suggestion ONLY after I special ordered the two-tone (almond/black) premium seats.

You should call your sales person to see if it's too late to request black ash wood trim?

How do u activate the Bluetooth audio?

Don't think I have that. May build.

It's automatic once you've connected to Bluetooth. I have an iPhone, as soon as I enter my coupe, the car recognizes my phone and the music from my iPod is ready to be played.

No setting to be turned on. If you have it, then you should see "BT Audio" on the bottom right in the Audio screen.

My sales person was very surprised that my 2011 coupe had the BT Audio when he was showing me all the features today.

Has anyone here tried Teflon Coating? Is this something that you guys recommend?

Gorgeous car! I absolutely love that beautiful interior. Mine will have the same two-tone look only red with black trim.

The black ash trim I ordered is Item #736. It is listed in the dealer's computer ordering guide as "#736 Black Ash Wood Trim Special Order." On the Purchase Contract it is merely listed as #736.

Would you please check your paperwork and see if your trim is also listed as #736?

Of course, it is possible it could be a different number, since the model and model year are different. Often, however, the same numbers carry over if the item is the same. Or the packages could be set up differently for the 550, as there was no "Wood Trim Package" item listed. Unless you may be referring to Item #318, wood-leather steering wheel and shift knob, which I did not order and did not appear to be required in order to get #736.

I had mine done. It looks great! Whether it will last 5 years or not, that to be seen. I know a lot of people are not fans of the TST, but I said what the heck. I'm already spending all this money, why not protect it some more. It can't hurt it!

Now I just don't have to wax for five years, just wash and wipe dry or they claimed that you can go through machine wash and it will also protect that. I don't think I would try the machine wash, but at leat no more waxing for awhile!
