Opinions about new wheels

I have purchased a 2011 350 e coupe black on black- It currently has the stock wheels 17". I wanted to possibly go to 18" and need your opinions as to what would look good---I wanted to stick to OEM and was thinking the AMG line... What finishes do you like, one Wheel Company suggested the AMG and then chroming them.
Lastly since the existing wheels and tires are new do you know places that exchange these. One company quoted $700 for all 4 wheels and tires (credit) if I purchased the new wheels from them (seems low).
Any help would be appreciated thanks. And if you know of an honest shop locally in Los Angeles/SFV that would be a great hhelp thanks, Peace

I've seen new (<20 miles) wheels and tires go here on the classifieds for around the $1k mark. Those were 18" AMGs so $700 is probably reasonable for 17" non-AMG?
How much are you being quoted for 18" AMGs? Make sure you get real ones and not copies, or if you get copies get a good price. Best price I've found online for genuine ones that have been refinished is around $500 per wheel.
I wouldn't chrome but that's just me.

ref Wheeeels ;

Thank you for those responses Yes the 17" wheels were stock and not AMG.
The place wanted $3500 for 4 amg 18" Chrome wheels with Pirelli Tires and thats after the $700
He suggested that chrome is best ....
But now I wonder was he trying to sell me...
Are there different models of 18" AMGs and what tires should I get thanks

I guess the important question is what do you like the look of?
If I were you, I'd get the local Mercedes parts department quote you for the wheels and the tires (separately) that way you'll have the "official" baseline price.
Then I'd start looking at Tirerack and the tire forum here for tire recommendations. I think about $1k is a good estimate for tires.

you can get oem amg on ebay for less than that - tires will run you less than $200 per wheel and don't forget the tpms.

oh yeah, chrome = (-1)

350 coupe e class
response-:)

Thanks again for your responses It's my first Mercedes (had a BMW),
I found this set on Ebay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/MERCEDES-E55...c8219c&vxp=mtr ) (anyone know the finish in the picture?) and I think its what I was looking for. Should I care if the wheel is new or used ? Will they tell me how many miles it has if it's used? And does it really matter if it's used vs new structurally?
thans everyone -

350 coupe e class
response

Thanks again for your replys, I guess as I research more it becomes more confusing. How many differemt variations of the AMG wheel for the 2011 coupe eclass are there?(one site had different amg wheels butthey looked bascially the same) In addition should I be looking at different sizes for the front and rear? When I purchase the wheels do I ask if they are used or new and does that matter:? What is the difference between aftermarket and OEM quality wise? And can anyone sugget the best 18" wheel for this car thanks
