LED DRlight Code

Hi,

Does anyone know the code of the new LED Daytime running light for new e class cabriolet both left and right. (is a straight line, prior model was like a "L" alphabet) I have amg package.

I would like to change to a new one, from "L",

Thank you very much

I have got these documents from the EPC in Europe but does state it is for all markets.

On the listing (C207-2) you look for part 410 on page 4, there are several types with different colored housings.

On diagram (C207-1) you can see the part number from the diagram hockey stick LED vs straight LED.

Hope this helps people.

Hello there! Thanks for the info, I just ordered the parts today, but I was wondering that is all I need to change my hockey leds with the straight ones? Also the part number that you gave for the grille is it in black color?

Thanks again!

Hey Andreas, yeah the codes there are all you need the DRLs are complete units - the light and the surround (in black) that's all I have fitted to mine. The chrome surrounds just clip on once the DRLs have been fitted but I haven't put them on to my car.

I love sunny Cypus, visit there every year!

I might be there from 26th for 1 week, I have friends stopping out in Napa for the summer season so just need to get a flight out there so may well take you up on that one Andreas.

The scene for cars out in Napa is crazy, Gemballas, Ariel Atoms, Evos, Lambos, all tricked out looking crazy.. and the bikes, custom bikes out there are beautiful, saw this bad boy out near castle club last year, the guy was pretty cool had a big crowd around it

Would be glad to show you around mate!

Since you know your cars, I am about to buy this steering wheel for an E250CGI Convertible 07/2011 that I have for sale because I want to make the whole car look like a facelift, do you have any idea if this will fit my car?

Thanks,

I'm very well thanks Andreas and yourself? Its not so great here at the minute, thunderstorms coming

If you send me a link to it I'll let you know, the R172, W204, W218, W212 steering wheels will fit the 207 E-Class, most the new style flat bottom sports steering wheels have part numbers either starting A172 or A218, i've looked at getting one but don't think it is a priority at the minute maybe later in the year

Oups I forgot to add the link before, here it is (http://www.ebay.com/itm/221090844559...#ht_500wt_1414), got it quite cheap I think, even though there is something suspicious going on with this seller, but I will wait to see...

Here the sun is burning, must be like 40 degress out, not so good for turbo cars

STRAIGHT LINE LEDS INSTALL

Nab good evening Mate! As I have said I have ordered the straight line leds and I am expecting them to arrive on the 22d of August. I received though a phone call from my Mercedes dealer telling me that the leds cannot be installed on my car because Mercedes itself does not give them any guidelines for this job. Obviously this is B****IT but I wanted to ask you if you can post some more details about the installation since you did it. Do we need to remove the bumper for the job, or the inserts can be removed without taking off the bumper?

Thanks,

Andreas.

Hey Andreas mate hope you're well. That is a load of **** that MB are telling you.. the lights are a simple fit, straight swap disconnect the old lights and connect up the new ones, to fit you will need to unbolt the front bumper to loosen it up so you can get the old DRL unit out and the new one in, would probably be easier to have the car up on ramps or jacked up with some axle stands underneath to secure the car. Took my dealer about 30 minutes to fit them but they showed me what to do in case I wanted to remove them when I sell the car.

Guys, are these the only 4 parts I need to upgrade from the hockey stick:

280 DRL

A 207 885 04 74 Left
A 207 885 05 74 Right

290 Ornamental Molding (chrome surround):

A 207 885 07 53 Left
A 207 885 08 53 Right

Was on the phone with the parts person at a dealership and he said these are only trims and surrounds. No actual LED.

Thanks

I think the good Dr. was relying on the diagrams when he listed the part #'s above, which can be tricky as the pictures of the housings look like the lights themselves. I believe he posted a correction in another thread but to avoid any further confusion the following according to dealer are the correct part #'s for this swap (AMG package required):

STRAIGHT LED's
204-906-89-00 $268.00
204-906-90-00 $278.00
GRILLE INSERTS
207-885-07-53 $61.00
207-885-08-53 $61.00
CHOME LAMP COVERS
207-885-05-74 $64.00
207-885-04-74 $64.00

TOTAL $796.00

I had to call multiple dealers in the area to sort this out and it's amazing how many of them had no knowledge of this, with a few saying it couldn't even be done. Thanks to Dr. Nab I knew it could be. Prices listed are dealer retail and can be found cheaper online, about $500+ total. I have all of the above parts currently on order and will update the thread when I install to confirm this is the correct and complete list.

So its a must that you have the amg package? What if i only have the sport pkg, would i be able to do the straight LED retrofit?

Thanks

I think you can use these part numbers for sport package as well.

Does anyone know what kind of load resistor I should use if I'm converting from quad fog lights to straight on my e350 sport?

What about wiring? Any info on that? Thank you.

I believe it's different wiring but there is someone on one of the other threads that did the conversion.

Yes, you can do the conversion if you have a quad light set up. There are several solutions suggested on the forum. One of them is to use a capacitor so that there is no error on the dash. The other one is to go from the side marker and just disconnect the halogen drls. One user said that there will be no error if both of the drls are disconnected. I haven't checked it myself, but I will in about two weeks.
