Thumbs up Manual or emergency operation of the E-Class convertible top

Hi folks,

I just noticed a very useful video on a W209 CLK-Class forum for manual/emergency operation of the convertible top, posted by Elite member "rudeney". This video is actually taken on an A207:

Please note that the convertible top of your A207s is almost identical to that of the W209s (model year 2003-2009 CLK-Class). That's not a bad thing - it's been proven to work pretty well. The convertible top pump and the cylinders lifting the storage cover are slightly different, so those will not interchange with the W209 parts.

It is a bit early to advertise our services for the A207, as the average convertible top hydraulic system will spring a leak at about age 10. However, in hot climates, we already see these systems needing better seals after 4-5 years.

Below is a diagram with the location of the hydraulic system components on a W209, taken from Top Hydraulics' website.

Enjoy your beautiful cars!

Klaus
