hi guys recently i bought a used w207 (2010) ,unfortunately mine does not come with the latest steering

this is my steering

i would like to replace my steering to this



is it possible? if so how much would it cost (just the steering and labor)

also will there be any complications to the airbag if i change my steering?

Do you have the E-Class coupe or sedan? The coupe is C207 and the sedan is W212. Anyways, I am pretty sure that the swap is a direct plug & play. I have that steering wheel on my 2012 and it is magnificent.

Edit: you will need a new airbag as well.

i have the coupe! oh its c207 not w207? didt know that ... i see so there wont be any complication on the future? i hope so as another forumer Caker said he bought his for $1000 from ebay.. i hope i can get as good bargain !

hi gavrocool care to share how much does the new steering cost? is there any risk or complication that might arise from changing the steering? and btw is the 2012 pre facelift steering is the same as the 2014 facelift steering?

My steering wheel is from A class.My electrician from MB made some changes so that it will fit,but i have no problems with it.

i asked ebay saller and he said all these wheels are from 2012+ and will not work for 2010
to get it work for 2010 y need another contact plate , 100$ cost

If steering wheel is produced before June 2012, then you do not need new contact plate for your 2010/11/12(prior June)

Constructors MB considered it necessary to replace the steering column module for C and X-Class in 2012, E-Class and the other models of sufficient just to replace the steering wheel.
For the C-Class is also not obligatory (because the cost of steering column module $250) - will simply not work backlight buttons.
Now all sell only new steering wheels from 2012, because the wheel before 2012 does not produce!
I have access in Germany to restricted parts of, respectively I can equip steering wheels necessary parts.

The guy who replied to you with name zh.k, is the one from whom i bought the contact plate ( i found him on ebay, bought airbag, but after had problems and he told me to replace plate, i bought it from him for 160 euro with delivery ).
If your car is 2010/11/12(prior June) you should buy steering wheel which was produced in this dates. if your steering wheel is 2013 ( as mine was) you have to buy contact plate.

After i installed new steering wheel, nothing worked (multifunction or paddles or horn signal). my car is 2010.
I ordered new contact plate from this guy. Then , I have replaced it with existing one and everything started to work perfectly.I am very happy with it.
I bought performance steering wheel from cls63 amg.

guys i was quoted by a local workshop for about 1150$usd for the new steering (I did not asked if it was inclusing of workmanship)

but is there anything i need to know when replacing my steering? thanks! what about the plate? do i need to aswell? with the plate affect anything?
