2014 E-class coupe -- Like or Dislike?

It is a bit unfair to compare old 350 with new 550. The old 550 looks 100x better than 350. The 350 looks kind of naked without sports body work. That's the reason I never considered 350, I don't care about the power, but I can't stand the "tucked in" body look and especially the front bumper.
550 is pure hotness.
I'd go with white though:
So back to apples to apples comparison:
And old 550 rear, quite a bit wider lower bumper than 350:
The new 550 is definitely more modern and flashy, but the old one is more "royal" in feel. It's majestic. It's one of the rare cases when I prefer an old car to a new one.

The new front looks like something that would be produced by Hyundai or Kia (mostly the lights). The rear of the facelift model does look a bit better. Beautiful car either pre facelift or facelift.

I think that the new look is much more modern. I'm glad to see MB going back to being avant-garde. MB had always being very modern looking until a few years ago that seemed like their designs stalled. Now they are pushing the envelope once again.
This is a very muscular and aggressive look, while keeping a classic grill that makes it unmistakably Mercedes Benz.
I do miss having the shift lever on the center console, but is a small price to pay for the much upgraded interior and exterior.
