2014 E-class coupe -- Like or Dislike?

Hey guys,

Just curious what people think about the changes to the E-coupe for model year 2014. Personally, I dislike the new front with the huge air dams. And I really dislike that they moved the gear selector to the steering column.

I prefer the styling on my 2012 E-coupe. My car still makes me smile every time I drive it!!

Only thing dont like is the integrated led daytimes. its nice that ours are on the lower part of the vehicle. I think moving it to the main headlight assembly makes it too busy.

I agree. Also having it on the lower looked much better at night when the headlight are on.

IMO I think the new look better fits the coupe more than the sedan. I dont like the new design on the sedan but I am starting to like the look of the new coupe.

I would guess the coupe is a 550 with the AMG styling package, more agressive front and maybe side skirting. I like it.

I do not care for the new tail lights though, they look a little asian for my taste.

I also do not care for moving the shifter. I bet there will also be a hefty price jump with all the new features.

I also could not see any series badges, at least I could not see 550 or 350.

I love the new design but not enough to switch anytime soon. I also noticed MB is now using reflector housings on the xenon headlights, IMO reflector headlights cheapen the look of any vehicle.

2014 looks better.. front end and rear end...

better wheel for sure.. they look like stock 19"

but after this E550 i'm going to buy used 2012 E63.. in prob 18th months

Pricing are coming down on the AMG's.. saw a white 2012 at Carmax for 70k.

I really like my coupe, but there so much more you have to do them to make them perform a bit better.

suspension, brakes, sound, appearance,

no doubt I like 4.6 TT engine.. but no sense of getting a 2014 E550 when a pre-owned E63 will be the same price.

At the front you have to change the grill, bumper and headlights. The fenders are the same.Maybe a few more small parts.

with the cost of all those parts, wouldnt it just be better to upgrade the entire vehicle? arent the headlights over a grand each?

For me it is very easy, i have 40% discount at all the parts. My friend from MB dealer buys all the parts on his company name and then he will sell them to me.Plus,i will sell my old parts.

100% agree with you, the only thing I like about the 2014 is the rear. Due to the ugly new front I just bought a new 2013 E 350 rather than wait for the 2014's to come out..

2014 E550 Coupe
I got ahold of the 2014 coupe dealer ordering guide in that in the next couple of days I am ordering a E550 Coupe for Euro delivery. The options packages have changed quite a bit. A lot more a la carte stuff. I have been told that base price should only jump around 1K.

Really, IMHO front is the best part of the refresh.

I'm not a huge fan of the new lights. E-class to me was defined with 4 upfront and now combining them has made it more of a larger C-class look-wise in my opinion.
