Unresponsive throttle with "cruise control inoperative" message

I started my 2010 E350 coupe today and was greeted with "cruise control inoperative" on the dash. That would be one thing, and from a cursory search, I see that it's not an uncommon little problem -- but with me, my gas pedal was dead. I could shift fine, but I could floor it while in drive and get absolutely nothing beyond idle.

Apologies if I missed something, but why is that, and what can I do to fix?

Car was purchased CPO recently.

2011 E550 Coupe
Since its a CPO, its best if you take it to the dealership.

its an e350, throttle is always going to be unresponsive...seriously though, probably a sensor acting up throwing it into limp mode, get it to dealer for scanning of codes.

I should add that when I restart the car, the problem goes away. Was a one-time thing so far... weird.

I have a '12 E350 and the throttle is very responsive when in sport mode. Don't know what the **** you're talking about.
