NEW PURCHASE 2013 E350 CABRIOLET
Just took this home yesterday. My first MB. Traded in my 2006 Lexus SC 430 with 22500 miles. I hope I made the correct decision.
It was a great ride home. I was very impressed. Only thing that I disliked so far was that I kept hitting the cruise control stalk when wanting to use the turn signal instead of the correct stalk. Too close together. Still think it's a dum design for the on/off switch to always have to be on for the NAV and backup camera to work.
Polar White
Black Leather
E350 Cab
Premium 1 Package
Apperance Package
Parktronic
Rear Spoiler
Good price on the last day of the month

You are correct Scott. I had one with my 2002 BMW 325cic for 4 years. I tend to baby my nice cars.
My wife always wanted a MB. I originally test drove the coupe but we always wanted another convertible if I ever got rid of the SC 430 and I was very hesitant witht the soft top after living with the hard top for 7 years due to maintance issues (like bird droppings, etc) or some low-life cutting the roof. It's a great looking car and i figured what the hell, let's take a chance again. It's not like I drive and park in areas like Bedford Sty in Brooklyn. It will be garaged all winter and hardly ever be out in the rain. My SC only had 22500 miles in 7 years.
It was a spur of the moment decision as I was speaking to dealers on Apr 30, the last day of the month. I had offers of $3500- $7000 off sticker and finally settled on -8k. I normally don't buy cars that are going to be changed soon but i plan to keep it for at least 7 years so it's not like I going to take any hit on depreciation. And there was no way I was going to get that much of a discount off a 2014 Cab or the 2014 BMW 4 series Convert I was really going to purchase. So, if I could save some cash, it was worth it to me. I had to go to Cherry Hill to get it.
Anyway, I hope it will be as good to me as my lexus Sc 430 was.
And it is a sweet ride. Driving home from the dealer (obviously not having read the manual yet) I pressed what I thought was the light switch but turned out to be me contacting MB. Bit redundant (I think) that there are 3 different buttons you can press to contact MB. Bit of a learning curve ahead for me with the controls, etc as it is way more complicated than the Lexus.
Once again, thanks.

Hey Gary glad to hear it; I think you made the right decision because this car will not let you down. Mine has been just as reliable as a Lexus but definitely more fun. Sounds like you made a good deal on it too. As for people messing with it, I haven't had anyone actually mess with the soft-top but when someone does do something, it seems like they just pour or splatter stuff on the paint (someone threw a soda on the side while parked, and someone splattered white paint on the hood). But the roof is actually pretty durable considering its materials; it is almost an inch thick. I very rarely drive it in the rain as well and it sits in the garage while I'm not driving it and it has held up perfectly with no complaints. Your car is white so that's also a plus because everything shows up on black, EVERYTHING. Anyways, good luck and feel free to PM me if you have any questions about the car.
How do you find the temperature of the black leather when the temperature gets hot? My Lexus had light beige seats which I tried to get with the MB but it was not in stock. Does it get really hot? Does it cool off quickly? I would have liked the P2 Package with ventilated seats but that was not available as well.

I have to say that after only having this for a couple of days, I love this car. The NAV is much better than the one in my BMW X3.

Finally had the chance to take this auto out for a nice drive from NJ to LI and back. Great auto. Had the top down in the evening on the highway with temps in low 60's with high winds.
Absolutely fabulous. Windows up, aircap up and air scarf blowing behind our necks made it a great and enjoyable ride. My wife's hair (and hers is quite long) was hardly blowing. Ride was smooth as silk when the roads were smooth and was great even when they weren't that good.. I don't miss my SC 430 at all.
