Rotor Replacement - Confused

Trying to get the rotors and pads replaced on my coupe, the dealer is wanting $1,500 (WTF?) to do it, but it seems I can buy the parts online for $427 and could just have someone install for me.

Are the 2012 E550 coupe rotors 344mm or 360mm? Everyone is saying different things.

Will these work? They say 2012 E550 coupe...

http://www.partsgeek.com/catalog/201...?brand=centric

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks

From what I can tell by measuring, the rotors on our '12 E550 Coupe are 360mm.

My '12 is 360mm x 36mm. Unfortunately, I discovered this AFTER getting the smaller ones that the manufacturer said would fit.

Screw the stock rotors. They are the ones warping for a lot of the owners. StopTech rotors are available from a few vendors.

you should be able to get OEM rotors for $120 each plus pads..

I went with OEM rotors and pads.. this case I can prove to my service advisor there is an issue with the stock parts or brake system.

so far.. after 1 month.. no issues.

the OEM pads are much softer than previous OEM.. alot more dust on the front wheels.

its not that hard to find a independant mechanic to do the swap
I have one nearby that charges me 1 hour of labor at $89. Drive around and see if they can do it for $100 for the labor as long as you have the parts.

Well, I finally managed to source some StopTech factory replacement rotors for my car and installed them today. Surprisingly, the Merc brakes are easier to service than a lot of cars I've wrenched on. The hardest part was breaking the rust that had formed between the old rotors and the hub - I had to hammer the crap out of them to get them off. The new StopTechs fit perfectly and look a lot better with the painted hats. And best of all, the warped rotors and associated vibration when braking are gone.

Rotors were $226 delivered from an online vendor. If anyone needs the part number, let me know.

The StopTech model # is 128.35118, but that is for the 2012 which is a 360x36mm.

The 2010 E350 takes a 322.4x32mm. The StopTech model # for that one is 128.35110. It may also be advertised under the Centric brand.

FYI, I have a set of the StopTech Performance pads that fit the 2010 - remainders of the debacle that was finding the right model rotors/pads for my 2012. Still brand new and wrapped in original shrink-wrap. If you're interested, you can have them for $95 and I'll eat the shipping.
